Kathy Meeks passed away at Sunny Vista Nursing home, Colorado Springs on Saturday December 16th after a long illness. Kathy Meeks was born in Nocona, Texas in 1948. She graduated from Nocona High School where she excelled in all women’s softball, basketball and volley ball. There she was voted most athletic in her class yearbook. She then moved her exceptional sporting skills to McMurry University in Abilene, TX where she graduated with a BS degree in Women’s coaching. She married and became a claims adjuster with American Family Insurance. She retired there in 1997 and took her long deserved rest by loving and taking care of dogs which she dearly loved. Kathy was struck with Multiple Sclerosis in 1994 and was confined to a wheel chair shortly afterward. Yet she did not let this terrible disease stop her and she continued a very active life. She was a season ticket holder for the Air Force Falcon Football games. She loved the Falcons and she loved the Texas Longhorns. She is survived by her brother Neil Meeks of Wichita Falls, Texas and her very close and dear friend Terri Renee Butler of Falcon, Colorado. There will be a graveside service at Nocona Cemetery at 12 P.M. on December 30, 2023.
