Troy Stone, former resident of Nocona, died suddenly of a heart attack in Ryan, Okla., last Wednesday morning. Mr. Stone was stricken at his place of business and died before he could be taken to a hospital. Funeral services were held at the Ryan Methodist Church Thursday, conducted by Rev. C. M. Hundley of the First Baptist Church of Ryan. Interment was in Nocona Cemetery. Mr. Stone was the junior member of the firm Grantham & Stone, cleaners and pressers at Ryan. He was a single man and a veteran of the World War. He went to Ryan from Nocona 21 years ago. He was in overseas service in the war and his transportation ship was torpedoed by a German submarine and he was in the water 48 hours before he was rescued. He was also shell-shocked and gassed. He is survived by a brother G. B. Stone of Nocona; two sisters Mrs. W. B. Price of Bowie and Mrs. Homer Greeson of Houston, all present at the funeral.
