After an illness of several years, death claimed H. C. Moody last Saturday night. He had been seriously ill for some days and his family was gathered at his bedside. The funeral was held Sunday afternoon, interment at the Nocona Cemetery. Rev. Wheeler, pastor of the Methodist Churh, conducted the funeral services.

He was born in Tennessee October 9, 1836, lived in Missouri, then Texas. He served in the Confederate Army during the Civil War. After the war he settled in Grayson County, Texas and married Mrs. Priddy, a widow. He is survived by his widow and five children, and three stepchildren. The children are: Sterling Moody of Nocona, E. T. Moody of Thackerville, Okla., Mrs. Hattie York of Spanish Fort, Joe Moody and Mrs. Mattie Haggerton of Route 3. The stepchildren are Mrs. J. A. Fooshee of Nocona, Mrs. Fields of Clarendon and J. B. Priddy of Portales, New Mexico. He first settled near old Eagle Point about 32 years ago and has lived near this place ever since. He had been in bad health for past several years. He had been a member of the church for 50 years.
