Bill J. Billings, 83, a lifetime resident of Nocona, TX, passed away Saturday, September 10, 2005. He was born July 21, 1922 in Nocona, TX to Aubrey Floyd (Bill) and Ruth Bryan Cone Billings. He married Wanda Wilcox December 24, 1953 in Nocona. Mr. Billings worked in the oil field construction business and was a lifetime cowboy. He served in the U.S. Army during WWII and was a member of Jean's Men Bible Class. Funeral services were Tuesday, September 13, 2005 at 11:00 a.m. in the Jerry Woods Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Weldon Wright officiating. Burial followed in Nocona Cemetery, under the direction of Jerry Woods Funeral Home. Survivors include: his wife, Wanda Billings of Nocona, TX; sons John and James Billings, both of Nocona, TX; several grandchildren; and a large extended family. Pallbearers were Bob Buck, Mike Henry, Larry Bratcher, Jerry Don Uselton, Jim Kennedy, Paul LaMar, Jim L. Keck and John Murphey. Honorary pallbearers were Dr. Rusty West, Jonathan Brown, Joe Kennedy, T.P. Skinner and Charles Gilmore. Memorials may be made to the charity of your choice or Jeans Mens Bible Class, Nocona, TX.
