Marion Ruth Barron, formerly of Nocona, passed away February 14, 2016, in Corsicana, Texas. She was 92. Ruth was born February 18, 1923, in Gainesville, Texas, to Joseph and Haney Griffin. 

Ruth was raised in Gainesville and graduated from Gainesville High School. Ruth met Morris Barron during World War II, and they married in Santa Rosa, California, on August 17, 1942. She has been a member of First Baptist Church of Nocona for more than 60 years. Ruth taught Sunday School and kept the nursery, and she also sang in the choir for many years. 
  
A graveside service will be held at Nocona Cemetery on February 18, 2016, at 1:00 p.m. under the direction of Scott-Morris Funeral Home.
    
Ruth is survived by her daughter Jodie Stephens of Corsicana; son Phil Barron of Kerrville; six grandchildren; five  great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandson; brother, Dr. Joe Griffin of Arkansas; and numerous nieces and nephews.
