Cecil Bailey Hulse went home to be with the Lord, October 20, 2021. He was 96 years old. Interment was in Nocona Cemetery at a service attended by close friends. A Memorial Service at Nocona’s First United Methodist Church is planned for November 30, 2021, at 10AM.

In 1968 he purchased Our Drug Store. A year later he moved the store down the street to a beautiful newly renovated building and renamed it – Cecil’s Rexall Pharmacy. He was very happy to own a ‘Rexall’ drug store.

For 18 years he served Nocona and the surrounding communities. Prior to Nocona, Cecil was a Pharmacist for 10 years at English Pharmacy in Wichita Falls.

Cecil loved his family and people of his community often filling someone’s Prescriptions after hours. Involved with several civic organizations, he was particularly proud to serve on the School Boards in Konawa, OK, and Nocona. He was on the Administrative Board of First United Methodist Church where he was a long time member.

During WW2, he served in the U.S Navy as Pharmacist’s Mate First Class. Graduating from the University of Oklahoma, he began his career at Hulse-Bayless Drug Store in Konawa, OK. In 1953 he married Rose Miller, a registered nurse and a graduate of Vanderbilt University. Married for 61 years before Rose’s passing in 2015; they had three sons, Bruce, Marcus, and Charlie.

Cecil was born in Lane, OK, to Bailey Hulse and Artie Helt. Growing up, he was especially close to his neighbors, the Chavers, whom he considered his adopted grandparents.

In 2019, Cecil moved to Cherry Street Village Assisted Living; and spent his final month at Grace Care Center. His family would like to thank all of the staff who provided care to Cecil at those facilities; and to the Doctors and Nurses at Nocona General Hospital.

His last words to Dr. Len Dingler were said to be, “Tonight I’m going to heaven to see my wife, Rosie”.

Cecil is survived by his sons, Bruce Hulse and Marcus Hulse; grandchildren, Sarah Hulse and Blake Hulse; and nephew, Leonard Shumard. He was predeceased by his wife, Rose Hulse; his son, Charlie Hulse; and his sister, Mabel Hulse Riccitelli.
