Freddie Wayne Hilton passed away Friday, October 27, 2023, in Bowie, Texas. Visitation services will be held at Scott Morris Funeral Home on Sunday, October 29, at 3:00 p.m. The funeral will be held on Monday, October 30, at the Nocona Church of the Nazarene at 2:00 p.m. Interment will follow at Nocona Cemetery.

Freddie was born in Lebanon, OK, on August 17, 1936, to Fred Newt and Ada Mae Hilton. He was the youngest of 4 sons: Cleveland, Louis, Albert, and Freddie. He spent most of his childhood growing up in Capps Corner where he completed high school and always credited his teacher, Ms. Ware, for being the reason he graduated. After graduation, Freddie served in the U.S. Army. He attended Boot Camp in Louisiana and was stationed at Fort Sill in Lawton, OK., as a PFC (E3) supply clerk. Freddie was honorably discharged on July 21, 1961.

Freddie met Cheryl Jean Hill in 1966. He and Cheryl were married on March 20, 1967, at Bowie Church of the Nazarene and together they raised 3 sons: Tommy Wayne, Freddie Wayne Jr., and James Lee. Freddie and Cheryl have 10 grandchildren and 11 great grandchildren. His love of God, family, and animals was foremost in his life. Work was also important to him. Freddie worked in the oilfield for most of his life. He passed the lessons he learned to his children.

Freddie is preceded in death by his father, Fred Newt; mother, Ada Mae; brothers, Cleveland and Albert; and his son, Tommy Wayne.

Freddie Hilton was a man of many actions and few words. He was an amazing man to all and a treasure to his family. He will forever be loved
