Jimmy L. “Jimbo” Hancock, 66, passed from this life on February 21, 2026 in Nocona, TX surrounded by his family. Jimbo was born on September 28, 1959 in Perryton, TX to Jodie & Mable Hancock. 

Jimbo was raised in Nocona, graduating from high school there and starting his oilfield career in the area. Jimbo was a hard-worker and loved dearly by the community. He was a past master of Nocona Masonic Lodge #753. Jimbo was also a member of the Sunday Morning Golf Group which he enjoyed greatly. After his oilfield career he worked in maintenance at Nokona Athletic Goods. Jimbo always supported his family whenever he could and loved his grandchildren more than anything. His personality and smile he always wore will be greatly missed by the community of Nocona. 

He is survived by his wife, Tammy Roper of Nocona, TX, children, Aaron Dean of Nocona, TX, Katie Cannon & husband Chris of Saint Jo, TX, Jamie Frawley & husband Josh of Frisco, TX, Jodie & Kahlil Handcock of Nocona, TX, Rubye Golson of Nocona, TX, Granville, Mitchell of Nocona, TX, brothers, Joe Hancock of North Dakota, Robbie Storey of Nocona, TX, and beloved grandchildren, Avery, Jace, Thea, Cade, Kahlyna, and Jovie. 

There will be a visitation on Friday, February 27, 2026 from 6 – 7 P.M. at Jerry Woods Funeral Home Chapel. A funeral service will follow on Saturday, February 28, 2026 at 2 P.M. at Abundant Life Church. Interment will follow in Nocona Cemetery. Pallbearers will be, Aaron Dean, James Billings, Casey Don Uselton, Robbie Storey, David Seay, and Jimmy Yarbrough. Honorary Pallbearers will be James Roper, Jason Roper and The Sunday Morning Golf Group.
