She was born January 13, 1926 in Hawkins, TX to Lee Roy and Celia Puckett Minshew. On May 13, 1945, she married Pete Horton in Nocona, TX. She was a homemaker and a member of First United Methodist Church in Nocona.

Funeral services were at 2:30 p.m. Sunday, May 24, 2009 at Jerry Woods Funeral Home Chapel in Nocona with Rev. Shelly McNew officiating. Burial followed in Nocona Cemetery, under the direction of Jerry Woods Funeral Home of Nocona.

Survivors include: sons, Pete Horton, Jr. of Wichita Falls, Charles (Chick) Horton of New Orleans, LA, John Horton of Nocona and Sam Horton of Brownwood, TX; daughter, Nancy Fenoglio of Nocona, TX; eleven grandchildren; and twelve great grandchildren.
