Loretta Hope Hurd Gilmore, 88, died on August 2, 2022 in Denton, TX. Born on July 17, 1934 she was the youngest of 3 born to Banner & Daisy Hurd in Mayodan, North Carolina. Raised with brothers Bryce & “Tankie”. Moved to Temple, TX to live with relatives and attend college. She met and married Charles Lee Gilmore, 11/27/54 and created a nearly 70 year love story. From 1957 – 1977 they settled in Nocona and raised their children Teri Bowman, Gail Yowell & Dean Gilmore, where Loretta was heavily involved in her children’s activities. She and Charles loved weekend’s playing card and dominos with friends. They moved to Burkburnett, Tx in 1977 where they resided for 40 years before moving to Denton to enjoy their children, grands, and great-grands. Haylee Carroll & husband Daniel, Brayden and Danica, Sam Russell & wife Christine, Jacob, Greyson & Hadley, Shanna Freeman & husband Clayton, Sunshine Jody Odom & wife Katie, Matthew, Lucille, Georgia, Eloise, & Dorothy Kate, Britt Yowell & wife Maida, Charley, Ali Lundy & husband Josh. There will be a visitation on Friday, August 5, 2022 from 10 – 11 A.M. at First United Methodist Church in Nocona. A funeral service will follow at 11 A.M. at the church with Minister Valleri Sewell officiating. Interment will follow in Nocona Cemetery. In lieu of flowers donations can be made to either First United Methodist Church of Nocona, TX or FUMC of Burkburnett, Tx
